Hari ki Pauri, Haridwar.

Description
Associated with the great Indian saint belonging to the ancient times Dattatreya, this is one of the most sought after stopovers in Haridwar. According to the mythological sagas, Saint Dattatreya stood in the Kushavarta Ghat on one foot for 1000 years since he was believed to be going through a period of penitence. This Ghat was reconstructed by Ahilya Bai Holkar- a Maratha Queen and is considered to be one of the landmarks glorifying the golden rule of Marathas over Haridwar. Located in one of the aesthetically enriching places of Haridwar, Kushavarta Ghat always buzzes with people who come here to perform memorial rites. It is believed that while visiting a pilgrimage the visitors need to follow a tirtha shraddha ceremony. Hence most of the pilgrims coming to Haridwar perform such shraddha at the Kushavarta Ghat. Apart from pilgrims Kushavarta Ghat is also visited by several tourists who wish to have a detailed insight of the ritualistic tradition of Hindu faith. Performed with full devotion, the rites of shraddha ceremony at Kushavarta Ghat of Haridwar truly claims reverence from one and all.
